If you are looking for the real deal, this authentic hummus is. A family recipe, prepared as it should, with tahini, lemon juice and garlic.

  • 1 1/2 (400 g) canned chickpeas, drained with half of the reserved liquid
  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 2 chopped garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil


Method

  1. In a blender, add the chickpeas by reserving a small handle for the filling. Put the lemon juice, tahini, chopped garlic and salt in the blender. Mix until creamy and well mixed.
  2. Transfer the mixture to an average serving bowl. Sprinkle with pepper and pour olive oil on top. Garnish with reserved chickpeas.
